State Secretary attends event for UN Day

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. On October 24, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs D.Davaasuren attended an event for United Nations Day or 74th anniversary of United Nations, held at UN Office Mongolia.
In his opening speech, Mr.Davaasuren thanked the UN for its continued support to the development goals of Mongolia and noted its willingness to cooperate more actively in reduction of air pollution, which is one of Mongolia’s pressing issues.
Emphasizing that Mongolia’s government is attaching great importance to ensure and protect rights of children, who amount to one third of the country’s population, he said that Mongolia joined the global pledge ‘Global action on the 30th anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child’, which was submitted this year on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Convention, and reaffirmed its steadfast commitment to implement child rights in the 21st century.
Moreover,
the State Secretary informed about Peacebook Forum, implemented by the Ministry
of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia last April for a purpose to give children and
youth awareness of value and significance of the peace and the Ministry’s
action to have Peacebook e-journal on international relations.
