Trees planted in honor of UN Day

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. Minister of Foreign Affairs D.Tsogtbaatar participated in the tree-planting activity ‘A Tree for the Future’ organized by UN Mongolia on the occasion of United Nations Day.
Moreover, Minister of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry Ch.Ulaan, Minister of
Environment and Tourism N.Tserenbat and representatives from diplomatic
missions and UN and other international organizations in Mongolia took part in
the activity, held in National Garden Park on October 18.
United Nations Day marks
the anniversary of the entry into force in 1945 of the UN Charter. With the
ratification of this founding document by the majority of its signatories,
including the five permanent members of the Security Council, the United
Nations officially came into being. October 24 has been
celebrated as United Nations Day since 1948. This year marks 74th
anniversary of foundation of United Nations.

Open Day was organized at UN Mongolia Office on October 19.
