Foreign Minister receives newly appointed UN Resident Coordinator

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. Mr.Tapan Mishra, the newly appointed UN Resident Coordinator in Mongolia, submitted yesterday his Designation Letter to Mr. Tsogtbaatar Damdin, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia.

Thanking the UN for its continued support for Mongolia’s socio-economic goals and its active cooperation with the country, Minister D.Tsogtbaatar noted the country’s aim to cooperate and contribute to the UN activities. The minister also expressed its interest to collaborate with the UN in increasing involvement of young people to disseminate peace and research of international peace issues.

Mr. Mishra expressed his commitment to closely work with the country and pay special attention on expanding Mongolia-UN cooperation and ensuring implementation of ongoing projects and programs.

Before his appointment to Mongolia, Mr. Tapan Mishra has been UN Resident Coordinator (RC) for the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea in 2015-2019.
