Parliament Speaker meets Nobel Laureate Dr. Ryoji Noyori

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. On August 29, Speaker of the Mongolian Parliament G.Zandanshatar received Nobel Laureate Dr. Ryoji Noyori, University Professor at Nagoya University, who is visiting the country at the invitation of the National University of Mongolia (NUM).  

At the meeting, Speaker G.Zandanshatar emphasized, “This visit is significant to give to Mongolian youth right perception and attitude on creating scientific and research-based development,” while thanking the Nagoyo University to have close collaboration with Mongolia’s universities and research institutions. 

Moreover, Mr. Zandanshatar highlighted successful ongoing programs at Mongolian universities including the program of Research and Educational Center for Japanese Law at Law School of the NUM.

Mongolian government considers that the country’s gateway to development and prosperity must be based on researches and has set goals to have research universities.

Praising the NUM’s partnering with Nagoya University on building research-based structure, the Speaker underlined an importance of the contribution of Japan, in particular Nagoyo University, to intensify academic exchange and students’ exchanges and form research universities.

Vice President of the Nagoya University Naoshi Sugiyama said that the University plans to cooperate with Mongolian universities and institutes in more fields and introduced that the visit of Dr. Ryoji Noyori includes events including giving consultation to young researchers, lecturing and exchanging views on further cooperation between two universities.

Dr. Ryoji Noyori said that Japanese are so close to Mongolia and expressed his readiness to jointly develop scientific and technological training and research, share his experience and knowledge with Mongolians to contribute to Mongolia’s development, scientific and technological advancement and its goal to achieve its universities to the world level.
