Women to convene for a better and brighter future
Society
Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. ‘For a better brighter future’, the first international women's forum on partnership and cooperation, will be held on September 17-18 at State House, Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. The forum aims at discussing pressing issues faced by women and offering solutions based on good experiences of neighbor countries and opinions of those who work for ensuring social, political and economic rights of women.
On September 25, 2015 a
resolution ‘Transforming our world: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development’
was adopted at the UN General Assembly. It declared that all women and girls
must enjoy full gender equality and all legal, social and economic barriers to their
empowerment should be removed.
Mongolia supported and accepted
with appreciation an appeal that says ‘all forms of violence and discrimination
against girls and women will be eliminated with participation of men and boys’.
