South Korea takes 200 beetles from Mongolia for relocation

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Within the cooperation between environmental authorities of Mongolia and South Korea, the South Korean side has taken 200 dung beetles from Mongolia to reintroduce the rollers which have been extinct in the country.

The beetles have not been recorded in South Korea over the last three decades as crop production has emerged in place of livestock farming since 1970s.The dung beetles brought from Mongolia will be bred at an entomology center and released to the nature after full adaptation.
