Local Government Summit in the Northeast Asia takes place

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The 24th Local Government Summit in the Northeast Asia was held on July 29 at Holiday Inn hotel. Tuv province of Mongolia, Primorsky Krai of the Russian Federation, Jilin province of China, Gangwon province of the Republic of Korea and Tottori prefecture of Japan have been cooperating since 1995 and holding an annual summit. 


Noting that Tuv province has been focusing attention on developing agricultural processing industries, Governor of the province J.Batjargal added that we are pursuing a policy to process wool and cashmere, leather, meat and agricultural products with high technology and export them. Currently we are exporting cashmere coat to Hungary, meat and meat products to China, Russia and the United Arab Emirates, buckwheat to Japan, beauty products made from sea buckthorn to the United States, the Republic of Korea, China, Germany, Japan and Taiwan.


He notified that the new international airport with capacity to receive three million passengers being built in Khushig Valley of Tuv province and a satellite city and transport and logistics networks to be established would create favorable condition for developing business, manufacturing and tourism in the province.


During the Summit-2019, authorities of the five provinces renewed a memorandum of cooperation. The memorandum reflects actions such as developing trans-regional auto transportation and air transportation, establishing integrated transport and logistics network and boosting tourism. 






The next Summit 2020 will be held in Gangwon Province of the Republic of Korea.
