Best project on redesign of Sukhbaatar Square southern area selected

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ According to the Governor’s Decree No. A/439, a project competition to redesign the 2.5 hectare area in front of the Sukhbaatar Square was held on June 15-29. A total of 16 teams submitted their innovative and creative ideas.
Submitted projects received votes from citizens through the Ulaanbaatar Urban Development Agency website for five days. Considering the citizens votes and the competition criteria, the competition evaluation committee selected the best project.
Project by ‘Tuvhsinguud Construction’ LLC team won the contest and was awarded with MNT 20 million. The project plans to create a green space on 1.25 hectares, two-storey underground parking and a rainwater harvesting fountain. The team also noted that the projects was planned to be suitable for four seasons.
Deputy Governor of Ulaanbaatar city J.Batbayasgalan noted that the competition was open for everyone including professional organizations and students. Proposals and ideas from the public were also reflected in the project, he said.
