President meets IPU delegates
PoliticsUlaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. The second Regional Seminar for the Asia-Pacific Region Parliaments on Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals is taking place at the State House. President Kh.Battulga received delegates who are taking part in the regional seminar.
At the beginning of the meeting, the President emphasized that efforts of the delegates would greatly contribute SDGs achievements.
Thanking
the President for audience, IPU President Gabriela Cuevas said that co-organizing
the second regional seminar with the State Great Khural of Mongolia is
considered as Mongolia’s significant contribution to achievement of SDGs.
Moreover, she briefed about
IPU activities, including one of IPU’s priorities which is increasing the people’s
role in the parliament, that will result in adopting the law for citizens.
In the conclusion of the
meeting, the President noted that there has been a lot of good and bad things in
the development path of Mongolia since its transition to democracy in 1990, but the country is still an oasis of democracy.
