Education quality reform project extended to 2022

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. State Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Sports B.Bayarsaikhan received Head of Human Development Center at World Bank Ruslan Yemtsov on May 2.


With the support of the World Bank, the Ministry has successfully implemented the Education Quality Reform Project by providing the necessary equipment and textbooks for math and science classes, introducing new methods, organizing training for teachers and enhancing the evaluation system for primary education. Reviewing the outcomes of the project, the sides came to the decision to extend the project until 2022.


Expressing her gratitude for giving support in solving many pressing issues of Mongolia, State secretary B.Bayarsaikhan gave information about the ministry’s objectives and necessities, and asked their assistance in keeping children safe from abuse, training special education teachers as well as music teachers that are highly in need, and solving the issue of latrines to provide students with a pleasant study environment.


Noting that he was tasked to give more significance on human development issues, Mr. Ruslan Yemtsov said, “It is important to have citizens who are able to be flexible in this time of constant development. Keeping children safe from abuse and creating a safe study environment are pressing issues that developing countries face. Thus, the World Bank will give its full support based on the necessities the ministry has defined in the framework of the policy.”
