‘Economic Forum 2019’ held in Orkhon

Orkhon /MONTSAME/ On April 9, an event titled the ‘Economic Forum 2019’ took place in Orkhon aimag with aims to expand the aimag’s foreign cooperation, attract investment, and create favorable business environment.


In his opening address to the forum, Governor of Orkhon aimag D.Batlut said “I am pleased to inform you that the forum involves representatives from the Chinese and Russian Embassies, United Nations Development Programme, World Bank, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Japan International Cooperation Agency, and German Society for International Cooperation. Main objectives of the forum are to deepen the aimag’s external cooperation, encourage entrepreneurs, attract investment, and to present to public the policy document of the aimag and its center, ‘Long-term goals for Green and Sustainable Development 2025’.”


Moreover, in the forum, greetings were delivered by Chair of the Citizens’ Representative Khural of the aimag P.Purevlkhagva, Head of the Local Government and Coordination Department of the Cabinet Secretariat P.Enkhsaikhan, Director-General of 'Erdenet' state-owned enterprise Kh.Badamsuren, Trade Representative of Russia to Mongolia M.V.Vasiliev and others.


Aside from the ‘Long-term goals for Green and Sustainable Development 2025’, the forum discussed Mongolia’s Regional Development Strategy, Local Development Policy Planning, and population settlement.

Orkhon aimag adopted the ‘Long-term goals for Green and Sustainable Development 2025’ policy document under the 2030 Agenda of Sustainable Development passed by the State Great Khural in 2016
