Preparations underway for visit of Russian President V.V.Putin
PoliticsUlaanbaatar/MONTSAME/ On March 29, Speaker of Mongolian Parliament G.Zandanshatar received Ambassador of the Russian Federation I.K.Azizov.
At
the outset, Russian Ambassador congratulated the Speaker on his appointment as
the Speaker of Mongolian Parliament and conveyed congratulations of Chairman of
the State Duma of Russia V.V. Volodin.
Expressing satisfactions with successfully developing bilateral relations and cooperation in all fields, Mr. Zandanshatar appraised persistent efforts of the Ambassador for it. He also notified that high-level reciprocal visits and joint honorable ceremonies are expected to take place this year. In particular, Mr. Zandanshatar expressed his hope that Russia’s State Duma chairman V.V. Volodin will visit Mongolia within the frames of celebrations for 80th anniversary of the Victory of the Khalkh Gol Battle. Moreover, he reported that preparations have started for upcoming official visit of Russian President V.V. Putin to be made within the historical anniversary celebrations.
For his part, the Ambassador said, “It is historical achievement that last year, bilateral trade turnover reached USD1.8 billion. Moreover, Ulaanbaatar Railway JSC transported 25.8 million tons freight, which is the maximum performance as compared with the freight volume of previous years.” In addition, the Ambassador presented an invitation to the Speaker to attend the international forum on Development of Parliamentarism, to be held on July 1-2 this year in Moscow.
During the meeting, the
sides exchanged views on joint celebration of the 80th anniversary of
the Victory of the Khalkh Gol Battle and organizing a chess tournament among
parliamentarians of the two countries.
