Mongolian delegation attends UN South-South Cooperation conference

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Delegation led by Minister of Agriculture and Light Industry Ch.Ulaan are participating the Second High-level United Nations Conference on South-South Cooperation being held in Buenos Aires on March 20-22.

On March 20, President of Argentina Mauricio Macri, the UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres and Jorge Chediek, director of the United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC), delivered remarks at the conference opening.

Minister Ch.Ulaan delivered speech at the General debate, noting that Mongolia aims to contribute to the South-South cooperation in the areas of agriculture, climate change and interests of developing landlocked countries and that the South-South Cooperation mechanism has made a real contribution to finding solutions to common challenges faced by developing countries in the past 40 years.


During the conference, Minister Ch.Ulaan met with the UNOSSC Director Jorge Chediek, exchanging views on opportunities for further cooperation, possible projects and programs in Mongolia under the South-South cooperation.

More than 1500 representatives of 193 countries are participating in the conference.
