Celebratory event for the 55th anniversary of Mongolia and Switzerland takes place

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Speaker of the Parliament G.Zandanshatar is paying an official visit to the Swiss Confederation at the invitation of the President of the Swiss National Council Ms. Marina Carobbio Guscetti.
On the first day of
his visit, the Speaker attended the celebratory event for the 55th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations
between Mongolia and Switzerland. Ambassador of Mongolia to the Swiss
Confederation L.Purevsuren opened the ceremony and heads of parliament of two
countries delivered remarks.
In her speech, Ms.
Marina Carobbino Guscetti emphasized that the two nations can be seen quite
different because of their geographical location, history, culture and
tradition, however, we have many similarities including our beautiful nature and
people’s deep honor to the nature and heritage. I will pay an official visit to
Mongolia this June and I hope that I will be closely familiarized with the
country that has been attracting me. Moreover, I am confident that the visit
would give an imperative impetus to develop bilateral ties at higher level.
“Within inter-parliamentary cooperation of two countries, mutually sharing experiences and knowledge besides of rendering technical assistance and giving methodological advice will be our priority objective in the near term. Furthermore, we have interest to carry out projects on improving livelihood of Mongolian citizens and cooperating in the spheres of agriculture, food safety, labor market, vocational training and production.” She also added that tourism is a promising sector for the two countries and we can see it from the growing number of tourists visiting from Switzerland to Mongolia."
For his part, Speaker G.Zandanshatar stressed Mongolia considers it important to develop established relations with Switzerland in all potential fields and expand trade and economic cooperation, in particular, bringing cooperation in agriculture and tourism at new level and introducing advanced technologies of Switzerland.
The Speaker also met with heads of Diplomatic Missions of foreign countries in
Switzerland, who partook in the ceremonial event, and had talks on
cooperation.
