Health State Secretary meets Belgian Ambassador

February 26, State Secretary of the Ministry of Health B.Byambadorj met with
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Belgium Mr. Mark
Vinck.
At the outset, the State
Secretary expressed their satisfactions with relations and cooperation of two
countries in health sector and emphasized the valuable contribution of projects
being implemented with the funding of Belgium government, including Project on Upgrade of the Diagnosis and Treatment
Center of Western Region of Mongolia, to improve quality and
accessibility of health services in Mongolia that is vast but has an
underdeveloped infrastructure.
For his part, the Ambassador
expressed his agreement with the State Secretary about successful
implementation of relations and cooperation of health sector. He reported that medical
equipment and facilities to be distributed within the first phase of the
project to upgrade regional diagnostic and treatment center of Khovd aimag have
been completely loaded and facilities for the second phase are now ready to be
loaded, while informing his intent to get acquainted with a progress of the project
and discuss pressing and solvable issues.
During the meeting, the
sides exchanged views on the process of projects and financing. Mr. Byambadorj
expressed an interest to implement same type of project based on joint
experiences and expand bilateral cooperation by means of involving physicians
and professionals in long-term scholarship program.
The Ambassador accepted the
cooperation proposals pleasingly and said he would deliver the proposals to corresponding
organizations.
