Ministry of Health to cooperate with Russia on measles and rubella prevention

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Minister of Health D.Sarangerel met with the representative of Gabrichevsky Institute for Epidemiology and Microbiology of Moscow, Russia today on February 12.
The meeting discussed collaboration on surveillance and prevention of measles outbreak worldwide, especially in the European countries. A joint project with the institute will be implemented in 2-3 years, introducing new laboratory techniques for rapid diagnosis of measles and rubella, exchanging physicians, conducting a study on immune system and discussing it at the international scientific conference.
Health Minister highlighted the importance of evidence-based decision-making in preventing measles as its outbreaks occur in the neighboring countries.
