Mongolia-Italy consultative meeting held

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A consultative meeting between the Foreign Affairs Ministries of Mongolia and the Italian Republic successfully took place on November 27 in Rome, Italy. The meeting was co- chaired by Deputy Foreign Minister B.Battsetseg and State Secretary for the Italian Foreign Affairs Ministry Di Stefano Manlio.


The parties expressed that resuming the consultative meeting between the foreign affairs ministries of the two countries is an indication of significance giving to bilateral ties and cooperation and  this meeting is crucial to improving mutual understanding and further cooperation.


The sides reviewed current state of Mongolia-Italy relations and exchanged opinions on enriching bilateral ties with economic content, particularly, on developing collaboration in the fields of food and light industry and renewable energy. In doing so, it is important to render bilateral support on creating bilateral mechanism to manufacture value added final products combining Italian advanced technologies with raw materials from Mongolia, Deputy Minister B.Battsetseg stressed. Furthermore, they talked over co-implementing projects, which have feasibility studies in particular, collaborating with the Italian side in the construction of leather processing complex in Darkhan city.


Heads of the delegation agreed to celebrate the 50th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic ties, which will fall in 2020, according to a joint program. They also shared views on utilizing full bilateral cooperation potential in cultural, education, sports and renewable energy sectors.
