Nariinsukhait-Shiveekhuren railroad construction to increase coal export

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/ At its regular meeting on October 24,
the Cabinet made a decision to construct a railroad in route Nariinsukhait-Shiveekhuren
at the same time with the constructional work of Shiveekhuren-Sekhe railroad
that will have a narrow gauge.
According to government’s estimation, it will contribute to
increase of the annual coal export to 18-20 million tons.
Therefore, it was decided to formulate a draft to add ‘Nariinsukhait-Shiveekhuren’ to the parliamentary resolution No:64 on ‘Some measures to ensure implementation of State Policy on railway transportation’ and submit it for parliament’s consideration.
A construction of Nariinsukhait-Shiveekhuren railway will
bring many advantages, including increase of coal export and border checkpoint
capacity by three-fold, cutting transportation cost 2-4 fold and decrease of negative
impacts on ecology.
