Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. During the course of the 10th Ulaanbaatar International Film Festival which is being held until October 28, award-winning 16 films from 10 countries will be presented to the public.

Co-organized by the Ulaanbaatar city Mayor’s Office, Arts and Culture Department of the Capital City and the Arts Council of Mongolia, the festival is supported by the Embassy of France, Alliance Francaise, the Embassy of Australia and the Goethe Institute. While author and producer G.Jigjidsuren is working as the Mongolian artistic director for the festival, Anne Delseth, a member of the Director’s Fortnight selection committee was selected as the international artistic director.

Mrs Anne Delseth, “I am grateful that I was invited to this year’s festival as an artistic director and judge. I liked the opening screening, “They Sing up on the Hill” a lot. Mongolian movies that are shown internationally tend to have historic theme, but this movie shows the current society and lives of youth in Mongolia very clearly. I believe movies that have a “Mongolian” plot and style will have great success.”

This year’s festival has chosen Russia as its featured country, of which films include Leto by Kirill Serebrennikov, Rough Draft by Sergey Mokritsky and Jumpman by Ivan I.Tverdovsky.

As for today, Cuckoo by L.Dashdoorov for short film, Genghis Khan by B.Tengis for animation and Life: Amidral by J.Sengedorj will be premiering. 12 more movies of 9 countries (Australia, Argentina, Germany, Columbia, Iceland, Russia, France, Chili and Japan) will be presented between October 25-28.

The annual Ulaanbaatar Film Forum, which is organized with aims of improving Mongolian artists' skill and international partnership, will be taking place today, on October 24.
