Commemorative silver coin 'International Cooperation' issued

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Bank of Mongolia has issued rectangular silver coins named ‘Friendship between Mongolia and Russia’, ‘Friendship between Mongolia and China’, ‘Friendship between Mongolia and Japan’, ‘Friendship between Mongolia and Republic of Korea’ in dedication to celebrations of the anniversaries of diplomatic relations with those countries in 2019.

The coins depict symbols of Mongolia and four countries such as Russian, China, Japan and Republic of Korea together.

The Treasury Fund of the BoM manages the process of making coins with the name and symbol of the BoM, giving permission, registration, restoration, transportation, oversee the process and sell the coin within the relevant law. It makes coins on the occasion of historical events and anniversaries at the request of government and non-governmental organizations.

In 1971, the Bank of Mongolia issued its first gold, silver, nickel and brass coins for celebration of the 50th anniversary of People’s Revolution. Since then, a series of commemorative coins were made and issued to promote Mongolia, for instance, coins of historical anniversaries of Mongolia, Great Khans Chinggis, Ugedei, Guyug, Khubilai, Mongolian and world influential people and famous political figures, Olympic medalists, endangered species, 12 year-animal have been released.

Researchers, collectors, citizens and organizations are available to buy the coin from the Treasury Fund.
