Deputy Speaker L.Enkh-Amgalan receives Vietnamese Ambassador

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Deputy Speaker of Parliament L.Enkh-Amgalan met Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to Mongolia Doan Thi Huon on September 6.
Deputy Speaker L.Enkh-Amgalan congratulated the Ambassador on the 73rd anniversary of Vietnam's Independence, emphasizing the expansion of bilateral relations and cooperation in the sectors of politics, economy, history, education and agriculture.
“It has been 60 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Vietnam. Inter-parliamentary ties has strengthened and official visit of the Speaker of Parliament M.Enkhbold to Vietnam had great significance in developing Mongolia-Vietnam historic friendly relations. I am pleased with the expansion of cooperation between the Parliamentary Friendship Groups, Standing Committees and Offices of the two countries. Further, we have to focus on creating mutual economic and trade flows, increasing type and quantity of export and import products, supporting local ties and intensifying cultural and agricultural cooperation,” said the Deputy Speaker.
Ambassador Doan Thi Huon said Vietnamese people still remember Mongolia’s support for the country in times of war.
She said, “The meeting of the Mongolia-Vietnam intergovernmental commission in August, 2017 set an objective to bring bilateral trade turnover to USD 70 million. I believe the objective is having a positive results as the trade turnover is rising. A Memorandum of Cooperation between Tuv aimag of Mongolia and Hòa Bình province of Vietnam was established during the visit of M.Enkhbold. Recently, our Embassy has worked in Tuv aimag. We are focusing on historical and cultural ties of the two countries. Specialists from Vietnam arrived to restore Amarbayasgalant Monastery. Our specialists will put their utmost effort in restoring the Monastery without damaging its unique structure.”
In turn, the Deputy Speaker thanked Ms. Doan Thi Huon for being initiative about the preservation of Mongolia's heritage and expressed willingness to cooperate in all fields for the development of friendly relations between the two countries.
