Consultative meeting of Ministry of Foreign Affairs and DFAT takes place

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The third consultative meeting between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) of Australia was held on September 6 in Ulaanbaatar city. The meeting was chaired by D.Davaasuren, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia and Graham Fletcher, First Assistant Secretary of the North Asia Division in the DFAT.

The two countries have been organizing consultative meetings since 2014, with the aim of exchanging views on current state of Mongolia-Australia relations, strengthening mutual understanding and trust, and discussing specific cooperation issues as well as international and regional issues of common interest. 

At the meeting, the sides underlined that Mongolia-Australia relations and cooperation have been successfully developing in the sectors of politics, education, economy and mining and have reached a broad partnership level, appraising the progress made in the fields of disaster prevention and emergency response. They also discussed about introducing internationally recognized leading technology and development experience of Australia to Mongolia, which will assist the country in addressing pressing issues and ensuring sustainable development.
