Local librarians learn library experience of the United States

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Some ten delegates from Mongolian libraries have shared their experience with local librarians after being involved in the International Visitor Leadership Program of the U.S. Department of State and getting acquainted with the operation of over 20 libraries of the United States. 
 
Participants of the training learned about the library system of America, the Library of Congress, a library service for children, service standards of the local libraries, reference and information services, technological advance of a library, requirements of modern librarian, library creative space, and cooperation between the libraries. They also exchanged views on services that can be applied to the libraries in Mongolia.

The training took place under the Capacity Building Project for Librarians of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Sports, involving more than 80 librarians from Arkhangai, Khuvsgul, Selenge, Orkhon, Darkhan-Uul and Bulgan aimags.
