Sendai Framework implementation introduced

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The ‘Sendai Framework Monitoring’ technical session to review the implementation of the document was held at the AMCDRR 2018.
The session was conducted to discuss implemented programs and further actions by the Member States and other interested parties and ensure that the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction, Paris Agreement and other global programs are based on disaster risk information and compatible with climate change-sensitive development policies and plans.

Deputy Chief of the NEMA Ts.Ganzorig delivered presentation on “Sendai Framework Monitoring: Opportunities and challenges of Mongolia”. “The Government of Mongolia adopted the Mid-term strategy for Sendai Framework implementation in Mongolia in 2017. The strategy was developed in conjunction with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, Paris Agreement, Asian Regional Plan for Implementation of the Sendai Framework for DRR and Mongolia Sustainable Development Vision 2030. Moreover, the strategy is based on cooperation and partnership between the Government, ministries, agencies, local municipal and administrative organizations, civil society, scientific organizations, private sector, citizens, public and international organizations,” he noted.
The countries shared their experiences and achievements on the new opportunities on finance, technology, information/statistics and capacity building as the pillars of the successful implementation of disaster risk reduction policies and programs.
