Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The second Asian Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction logo interpretation is shown below.
Horse treasure
Mongolians have traditionally worshipped horses calling them ‘horse treasure’ and as the symbol of good fortune, speed and power. The horse and highlighted Asia Pacific region on the globe of the logo symbolize the rescue of the population of Asia from disaster, disaster risk reduction in the region at the speed of Mongolian horse and the important mission of Mongolia’s leadership in Asian region. The dark blue color of horse head represents the idea ‘Land of the blue sky’.
Outstretched hand - the symbol of protection and peace
Each country has the same responsibility for the protection of the world population from natural and other disasters. The hand symbolizes the call for unity of all nations as disaster and the harm caused by it know no boundaries and highlights the importance of comprehensive multilateral cooperation against disaster.
Olive branch
The main element of the United Nations and International Civil Defence Organization emblem is reflected as well in the AMCDRR logo.
