PM receives IMF Managing Director Mitsuhiro Furusawa

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Prime Minister U.Khurelsukh today received Mitsuhiro Furusawa, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
Extended Fund Facility (EFF) Program co-implemented by the IMF and other banks, financial institutes and partnering countries is yielding positive results and bringing economic recovery and growth, PM said and expressed gratitude to IMF Executive Board’s support for the third review of the program, and its constant support and policy advice.
Although economy is growing and key targets of macro economy are being achieved, it is necessary to consider an issue to increase salary of civil servants which was not increased over last three years, noted PM and put its proposal to study the issue in collaboration with IMF staff team and define ways to tackle.
"I am happy that EFF program is giving its positive results in a short period of time" said Mr.M.Furusawa. However, it is crucial for Mongolia which is dependent on export and price of raw materials to prevent from potential risks and to intensify implementation of the program. PM’s leadership and policy stability will contribute a lot to implement proper policies and objectives within the program and to bring results, he highlighted.
