4.2 magnitude earthquake recorded in Khuvsgul aimag

Khuvsgul /MONTSAME/ Yesterday or at 6:18 pm April 16, a 4.2 magnitude earthquake occurred in place named ‘Minj bulag’, 80 km away from Tsagaannuur soum of Khuvsgul aimag.
Citizens did not feel tremors and there was no loss or damage as the earthquake occured in taiga region where people do not settle. This is the third time earthquake hit in the area of Khuvsgul aimag this year. In 2017 earthquake above 3 magnitude struck in Khuvsgul aimag nine times. The strongest or 4.1 magnitude earthquake recorded on September 21 in Bayanzurkh soum and on April 1 in Tsagaannuur soum last year.
