Ulaanbaatar to host ISDR Asia Partnership Meeting

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Government of Mongolia and the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) in cooperation with the Asia Pacific Office of the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR) will organize the 2018 ISDR Asia Partnership Meeting (IAP) in Ulaanbaatar on April 24-25.
 
The IAP is a biannual conference and a main consultation forum for the biennial Asian Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction (AMCDRR), the 2018 edition of which will be held in Ulaanbaatar on July 3-6. Collectively, the IAP and AMCDRR form the regional platform for disaster risk reduction in the Asia-Pacific region.
 
Building on the outcomes of the last IAP Forum held in Bangkok, Thailand on December 15-16, the conference will address global and regional updates in disaster risk reduction and in particular implementation of the Asia Regional Plan and firm-up the agenda of the AMCDRR 2018.
 
The IAP forum will be attended by more than 120 delegates including representatives from countries such as Australia, Bangladesh, Bhutan, China, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, India, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, the Maldives, Myanmar, Pakistan, the Philippines, the Republic of Korea, Sri-Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam and international and regional organizations.
