Society
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Embassy of Canada in Ulaanbaatar organized an event of the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI) at the Central Tower on April 11.
During the event, the Embassy of Canada introduced the CFLI activities and gave advice on writing project proposals and submitting project proposals for the CFLI.
The CFLI supports projects proposed and implemented by community groups, NGOs, regional government institutions, and other grassroots organizations working on local development activities.
This year the CFLI will select projects in directions of gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls; inclusive governance, including diversity, democracy, human rights and the rule of law; human dignity, covering health, education and nutrition; and growth that works for everyone, including women’s economic rights, decent jobs and entrepreneurship, investing in the poorest and most vulnerable, and safeguarding economic gains.
The Embassy of Canada in Ulaanbaatar will receive project proposals until May 11 and selected proposals will receive funding up to CAD 50 thousand.
Since 1997, the CFLI has granted CAD 6 million for over 430 small projects in Mongolia focused on reducing poverty and strengthening good governance.
