O.Enkhtsetseg attends Ministerial Conference of Non-alignment Movement

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The 18th Mid-Term Ministerial Conference of Non-alignment Movement (NAM) took place on April 5-6 in Baku, Azerbaijan. More than 800  representatives from 120 NAM participating states, 17 observer countries and more than 10 international organizations took part in the conference and approved Baku Declaration and the Final Document.
 
Director of the Multilateral Cooperation Department of the Mongolian Foreign Ministry O.Enkhtsetseg delivered a speech at the General Debate of the 18th NAM Ministerial Conference. She expressed her support for the goals set by NAM and her hope that the Baku Final Documents will contribute to this goal. Furthermore she introduced the policies and actions of Mongolian Government under the Sustainable development goals to 2030, including the Government’s three-pillar development policy.
 
Mongolian delegates' proposals were approved in the Final Document, including acknowledging Mongolia’s Nuclear-Weapon-free Status internationally, supporting International Research Center for Landlocked Developing Countries, improving public education and livelihood of girls and women in rural areas and calling for an active participation in the second Asian Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction to be held on July 3-6 in Ulaanbaatar.

During the conference director of the Multilateral Cooperation Department of the Foreign Affairs Ministry O.Enkhtsetseg met with the director of the Department of regional security of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry Kamil Khasiev and handed him Minister D.Tsogtbaatar’s invitation to the Ministerial Conference opening the International Research Center for Landlocked Developing Countries for Foreign Affairs Minister Elmar Mammadyarov.
