Foreign passport service transferred to districts

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The General Authority for State Registration and Intellectual Property today announced the transfer of foreign passport service to districts.
In an effort to reduce the long queue at the General Authority for foreign passport services and increase the efficiency of public service, it has been decided that foreign passport applications will be received in ten locations. In specific, citizens can apply for a foreign passport at the State Registration Divisions of Bayangol, Sukhbaatar, Chingeltei, Khan-Uul, Songinokhairkhan and Bayanzurkh districts and four public service centers of the capital city.
The number of citizens applying for a foreign passport increased by 60 thousand in 2017, according to D.Delgersaikhan, Deputy Director of the Authority, who held a press conference on April 4 to announce the new regime.
“The number is expected to increase further this year, and we are working on improving the quality of passports,” he said. The new regime will be launched on April 9 with two windows in each district.
