Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ President Kh.Battulga is addressing sustainable development of education sector, which he believes is the main solution to the perceived moral breakdown in the Mongolian society.

In this regard, a discussion themed ‘Education and Upbringing’ was held in the State House today, as the first of a series of discussions aiming to reflect the opinions of various interest groups of the society on how to ensure sustained growth of the education sector.

Pursuant to a presidential decree issued on December 8, 2017, a working group was formed with responsibilities to conduct a comparative study focusing on the roots of morality in the Mongolian society with other cultures, identify the traditional Mongolian philosophy on education, hold meetings and discussions on the matter and draft an ideal government policy document.
 
The working group is studying the development and implementation of Mongolia’s education policy and challenges with participation of the public. For instance, the group has been focusing on the education policy reform and obstacles in Mongolia with other countries.

The discussion was attended by Z.Enkhbold, Chief of Staff of the Office of the President, Yo.Baatarbileg, Member of Parliament and Head of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Social Policy, Education, Culture and Science and representatives of the corresponding ministry, universities and government and non-government organizations working in the area.
