Head of the Parliamentary Standing Committee meets Laotian Ambassador

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/ On March 22, Yo.Baatarbileg, MP and head of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Social Policy, Education, Culture and Science, met with Sialounkone Seng-Outhone, Ambassador of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic.  

Yo.Baatarbileg said, “Laos is a country with rich history and culture. The country is successfully developing tourism based on its famous memorial sites inscribed on UNESCO Cultural Heritage, Laotian valuable cultural heritage and beautiful nature. Therefore, we have a request to study experience from professional people in publicizing the culture and conserving natural heritage inscribed on UNESCO Cultural Heritage and develop cooperation.”

He also told he plans to initiate setting up a Mongolia-Laos group in the Mongolian Parliament to intensify bilateral cooperation.  

Moreover, Yo.Baatarbileg asked to convey a request to continue cooperation between Arkhangai province of Mongolia and Champasak province of Laos to the governor of Champasak province.
It plans to co-organize an international scientific conference on July 18, 2018 with the UNESCO and International Institute for the Study of Nomadic Civilization. Therefore, Lao delegates were invited to take part in the conference.

In turn, the Ambassador appreciated for sharing views on bilateral relations and cooperation and emphasized that two countries have been cooperating successfully in politics, health and agriculture since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. He also expressed that he has the same opinion on developing cooperation in other sectors proposed by a head of the Standing Committee.
