Drinking water supply to be improved in Gobi-Altai aimag

Gobi-Altai /MONTSAME/  With an aim to improve drinking water supply, a project named ‘Taishir-Altai’ will be implemented in Gobi-Altai aimag in 2018 with the funding of EU 14 million from Austria.

Locals have been worrying over their drinking water for years. In connection, the work on improving drinking water system is considered as the priority of Gobi-Altai aimag in 2018.

As of 2017, the administration of Gobi-Altai aimag did construction work worth MNT 9.2 billion. Using the State and local budgets and private organizations' investment, this year Gobi-Altai aimag plans numerous works such as to connect Altai city with Ulaanbaatar by paved road, to complete 130km road en route Bayankhongor province to Baidrag bridge and 127.6km paved road en route Delger soum to Baidrag bridge. Moreover, 35MW power plant will be built in Altai city with the funding from South Korea.

Altai city plans to have a new residential area with apartments for 2500 households and townhouses for 118 households by 2030.
