Emergency agency to cooperate with Hulunbuir on prevention of steppe fires

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. The Deputy Chief of the National Emergency Management Agency of Mongolia, brigadier general G.Ariunbuyan recieved the representatives of the Hulunbuir city, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region of the People’s Republic of China.

At the beginning of the meeting NEMA’s deputy chief, brigadier general G.Ariunbuyan thanked the department authorities for cooperating and support for improvement of forest and steppe fire fighting capacity of the Emergency Agencies of Mongolia’s eastern region aimags including Dornod, Khentii and Sukhbaatar as a part of implementation of the agreement on Cooperation on Transboundary Forest and Steppe Fire Fighting  between Governments of Mongolia and China.

The Municipal People’s Government  of Hulunbuir and the the Forest and Steppe Fire Control Department pledged that they will support to newly establish a fire extinguishing and rescue unit in Khalkhgol soum of Dornod aimag and provide necessary equipment assistance.

Furthermore, they expressed their willingness to cooperate in sharing mutual experiences, providing information to both sides in a timely manner during fires and to further expand cooperation. The sides agreed to sign a Memorandum of cooperation in preventing  forest and steppe fire in Dornod aimag and Hulunbuir city.
