Domestic enterprises seeking ways to enter into global market

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A forum titled ‘Export Mongolia -2018’ took place at the Conference Hall of the Corporate Hotel on February 01. This year, the forum focused on increasing export of value-added products except mining products and establishing central network of foreign trade.
 
At the forum, participants exchanged views on the state policy on export, experience of companies exporting their products, implementing projects and programs of international organizations and funding issues of export-oriented enterprises.
 
The forum was held in attendance of representatives of government, private and international financial organizations that support export including representatives  the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Development Bank of Mongolia, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the Asian Development Bank.
 
In Mongolia, mining products makes up 85 per cent of export and non-mining products make up remaining 15 per cent. So, the representatives agreed with paying attention to vary pillars of economy.
 
During the forum, the participants criticized that the number of export-oriented enterprises operating in Mongolia is uncertain although over 10 thousand registered entities are in Mongolia according to statistics.
 
Moreover, national top companies shared their experiences of entering into foreign market. Companies involving ‘TESO’, ‘Khaadiin Ger’ and ‘Leader Cashmere’ shared their experience of exporting their products as well.
 
Ch.Munkhbayar, Director of  project funding and loan division at the Development Bank of Mongolia, highlighted that the World Bank is implementing project named Export Development Project for Mongolia to support Mongolian small and medium size firms (SMEs) in the non-mining sectors to strengthen their export capabilities and expand access to export markets.
 
Most importantly, participated enterprises and representatives discussed ways of entering into global market and joining international cluster system which connects international trade spokespersons.
