Today is Blood Donation Day

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Today marks the first blood donation day of 2018. The National Blood Transfusion Center (NBTC) in cooperation with “JCI Mongolia” marks the day under the slogan “Give a gift of life”, glorifying all blood donors who helped those in need.
Out of many government and non-government organizations, individuals and companies that actively support NBTC, “JCI Mongolia” has been an eager partner for nine consecutive years. Today the two organizations will sign a memorandum of cooperation for 2018.
The blood donation day is marked on third of every month since 2015. The fact that it happens on the third day of the month is no coincidence. One blood donation can serve as a material for three different blood products and can save three persons’ lives. In addition, according to Mongolian traditional beliefs, number three serves as a symbol of eternity, representing past, present and future. For these reasons, the third day of each month was chosen.
