Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Mongolian and Japanese dancers will stage a modern dance concert named ‘Beyond Borders’ on November 18.

The concert is dedicated to the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries and will be held at the Corporate Hotel & Convention Center.

The initiative of the concert was pitched by young Mongolian artists working and living in Japan and supported by the Mongolian Embassy in Japan. Aiming to introduce modern dance and its various styles to the Mongolian audience, the dancers have been conducting joint rehearsals in Mongolia for about a month now.

“This is a fruitful cooperation between Mongolian and Japanese dancers in terms of mutual exchange of culture and experience and gaining deeper insight to modern dance,” said project coordinator, producer Kh.Gerelchimeg, State Honored Artist.

Japanese dancer, choreographer Jo Funaki is working on the concert in addition to dancer Sayaka Yabuta and Mongolian dancers A.Khangai, B.Batbold and O.Lkhagvasuren, who previously worked at the State Academic Theater of Ballet and Opera. The dancers will deliver Jo Funaki’s Beyond Borders and other items choreographed by Mongolian and Russian artists at the concert.

The concert is organized by UB Ballet School, supported by the Embassy of Mongolia in Japan, the Department of Culture and Arts of the capital city, Bold Foundation, and sponsored by the Corporate Hotel & Convention Center, Serj Classic Mecenat Foundation, DIOR, Erdenezoo Trans LLC, Munkhiin Useg LLC and Khuvsgul Lake LLC.
