Cabinet to improve child protection service

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Training and Research Information Center, Child Protection Response and Temporary Shelter to be established under Family, Youth and Child Development Agency, implementing agency of the Government.
Law on Children, Child Protection Act and Law on Domestic Violence have been approved in 2016. Creating the necessary structure, vacancy and developing child protection service in accordance with the international approach, reorganization of “Unur Bul Child Center” and several other facilities have been planned to be created.
Due to the fact that the necessity of child helpline “108”, Child Protection Response and Temporary Shelter has been operating as an experiment since January, 2017. Since then, 153 children have been temporary sheltered for 1 day to 3 months.
Therefore, having Child Protection Response and Temporary Shelter and “Unur Bul Child Center” is highly necessary. Also, establishing this center would not burden the State Budget and will be settled by coordinating the budget.
