President receives non-resident Ambassador of Qatar

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The State of Qatar has expressed interest to open its Embassy in Ulaanbaatar.
President Kh.Battulga received and discussed bilateral ties with non-resident Ambassador of Qatar to Mongolia Sultan bin Salmeen al-Mansouri on Tuesday.
At the beginning of the meeting, President Kh.Battulga noted that Mongolia and Qatar share similarities despite of geographical distance, expressing his interest to broaden bilateral relationship.
For his part, the Ambassador said the 15th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Qatar and Mongolia will occur soon, and that he will focus on Qatari investment in Mongolia. He expressed hope that Mongolian athletes will actively partake in the 2022 FIFA World Cup and other sporting events to be hosted by Qatar.
President Kh.Battulga appreciated the productive defense cooperation between Mongolia and Qatar, expressing interest in cooperating in tourism and urban planning. “Mongolia will be pleased to extend its cooperation with Arab states of the Persian Gulf”, he said.
