President addresses investors’ convention

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Kh.Battulga, the President of Mongolia participated in the monthly convention of Mongolian and foreign investors and businessmen held Monday at the “Blue Sky” hotel.
After being introduced as a former experienced businessman and taxpayer, Mr Battulga thanked the Business Council of Mongolia (BCM) for holding this convention, and pointed out that he met the public representation for the first time, 32 days after his inauguration.
Mr Battulga believes that the convention aims to make the both internal and external investment environment of Mongolia and their legal landscape more proper. He also hopes that all the participants will produce good ideas concerning the investment and improvement of the legal environment.
The President talked about the foreign policy, emphasizing that he strictly stand for a principle that Mongolia must keep a unified foreign policy. “There is no difference between the foreign policy maintained by the President or the Foreign Ministry,” he stressed.
The President also spoke on the business environment in Mongolia, and proposed some business projects to investors on railway, auto-roads, agriculture and urban development.
Mr Battulga replied to some questions from the participants, especially concerning the tax environment in Mongolia, the macro-economy, investment for the mining industry issues as well.
