Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A mid-day meal cost for per student, who studies in special schools will be increased to MNT2400, starting next September. The Government made this decision yesterday, June 7, considering that nutritious and nourishing meal provision for children,  particularly the children with disabilities, would influence positively their health and would be a vital support for their successful studies. Increase of funding would give a possibility to provide 40-45 per cent of daily nutrition need of children with the lunch.

Currently, lunch cost for per student of primary class of special schools is MNT600, according to Government resolution N106 in 2012 on ‘Approval of meal cost norm’.

A total of 1602 children are studying in four special schools for children with disabilities and two schools for children with visual impairment and hearing disability. Cost for students’ lunch will require MNT746 million in a year, however, it will not cause a burden on the state budget.
