EU Ambassador awarded Order of Polar Star

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Minister of Foreign Affairs Ts.Munkh-Orgil met with Ambassador of the European Union to Mongolia Hans Dietmar Schweisgut on May 24 during his brief visit to Mongolia from Beijing, China where the EU delegation office is based.
Sides exchanged views on follow-up actions after Minister Ts.Munkh-Orgil’s visit to the EU earlier this month and an upcoming project to support Mongolia’s foreign trade. Moreover, the sides discussed phased measures to be taken by the EU on budget support and budget management in Mongolia from 2018, as agreed during the 17th Joint Committee meeting between the EU and Mongolia, held last March.
By a Presidential decree, Foreign Minister Ts.Munkh-Orgil presented Order of the Polar Star to Ambassador Schweisgut in recognition of his contribution to advancing the EU-Mongolia relationship.
Minister Ts.Munkh-Orgil commended the Ambassador’s role in further developing bilateral ties, emphasizing that Mongolia attaches a significant importance to its relationship with the EU.
