Newly appointed Japanese Ambassador presents credentials

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ President of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj Monday received credentials from newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Mongolia Mr Masato Takaoka.  

After the ceremony, the leader of Mongolia congratulated the Japanese Ambassador on being assigned to Mongolia and pointed out that the two countries are actively cooperating in many fields in the spirit of strategic partnership. Noting enduring firm political ties between Mongolia and Japan, Mr Elbegdorj stressed that he highly value friendly contacts with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. Mr Elbegdorj said that Japanese assistance has greately contributed  to the development of Mongolia.

The President  highlighted that currently Mongolia and Japan are implementing an Economic Partnership Agreement. Within the framework of bilateral cooperation, projects on training over 1 000 engineers, constructing a new international airport and hospital under the Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences are being successfully implemented. “The office of President of Mongolia and Ministry of Foreign Affairs will fully support your diplomatic mission”, he added.

In turn, Mr Takaoka said that he will put efforts to strengthen bilateral relations. He said he hopes that the economic and foreign trade relations will deepen within the Economic Partnership Agreement between Japan and Mongolia. Then Japanese Ambassador noted that Japan and Mongolia will celebrate 45 years of diplomatic ties. Also, Japanese side is working on developing a new medium term program in framework of the strategic partnership between Japan and Mongolia.
