Industrial production index rises by 10.4 percent

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The industrial production index (seasonally adjusted) was 145.7 (2010=100) in October 2016, which represented an increase of 10.4 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, 13.4 percent against the end of 2015 and 4.6 percent compared to September, 2016.

In the mining and quarrying sectors, the productions of copper concentrate, zincum concentrate, iron ore, gold and coal increased by 11.8-30.2 percent, and in the manufacturing sector, the productions of bakery products, spirit, milk, soft drinks, buuz and dumpling, alcoholic beverages, printing plastic cards, sausages and railway sleepers increased by 0.2-1.9 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.

However, the production of molybdenum in concentrate, crude oil, fluorspar concentrate, broken and crashed stone decreased by 0.3- 38.4 percent, and the production of major commodities such as mineral water, copper, bread, cement, lime, sawn wood, wooden doors and windows, articles of iron concrete, steel casting, vacuum windows and doors, metal steel and metal foundries decreased by 0.1-65.3 percent.
