EBRD rooting for small-scale projects
PoliticsUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Governor of the Bank of Mongolia N.Bayartsaikhan received the First Vice President of the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Philip Bennett, Acting Head of EBRD Office in Mongolia A.Ulziitogtokh and the EBRD Managing Director for Turkey and Central Asia Natalia Khanjenkova, on September 27.
The sides discussed about the possibilities to increase the annual amount of financing and credits by EBRD to Mongolia.
EBRD promotes mining and infrastructure projects , as well as the small-and medium-enterprises. Mr Bennett stressed that the Bank has decided to increase funding for the small-scale projects. He conveyed EBRD’s message to the governor of Mongolian central bank where EBRD declared its willingness to extend its activities in the banking and financial sector, thereby urging Mongolia to improve transparency in the governance.
