Parliamentarians meet Asia Foundation’s delegation

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Head of the parliamentary Standing committee on security and foreign policy J.Enkhbayar; head of the Standing committee on state structure N.Enkhbold; and A.Undraa MP met Wednesday a delegation of the Asia Foundation (AF), an international developmental NGO.

At meeting, the sides exchanged views on projects and programs to be co-implemented by the AF, the government of Mongolia and state organizations. The AF has branches in 18 countries, and it opened in Mongolia in 1990 with purposes to strengthen the democracy, to support the good governance and transparency, to empower women, to reduce corruption rate and to encourage environmental restoration.

The AF delegates expressed the willingness to broaden the cooperation with Mongolia in good governance, combating corruption and fortifying the democracy.

Present at the meeting were Suzanne Siskel, the AF executive director on action affairs; Dr Gordon Hein, senior vice president of programs at the AF; William Stadden Cole, senior director for program strategy; Sagar Prasai, the AF country director for India; Meloney Lindberg, the AF's country representative in Mongolia; and Diana Fernandez, deputy country representative of the AF in Mongolia.
