Speaker wants to strengthen Mongolia-Finland cooperation in winter sports

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Speaker of Mongolian Parliament Z.Enkhbold received April 21 a delegation led by the First Deputy Chairman of the Finnish parliament Mr Mauri Pekkarinen. The Speaker wished the guests a pleasant stay in Mongolia and thanked them for the attendance in the Asia-Europe Parliament Partnership Meeting.

He noted that the implementation of actions, discussed at the 12th meeting of the Mongolia-Finland intergovernmental committee in 2014 in Ulaanbaatar, is unsatisfactory, and said related agencies from the two sides should take more active part in this.

Mr Mauri Pekkarinen congratulated him on the successful organization of the ASEP9 and promised to put more efforts to forward the issues discussed at the 12th intergovernmental committee meeting.

Z.Enkhbold expressed an interest in forwarding the cooperation with Finland in culture and sports, particularly in winter sports, and in infrastructure and capacity building.

The Speaker touched upon matters of possibilities of training kindergarten teachers in Finland and of exchange of masters and doctorates.

In response, Mr Pekkarinen said Finland has been leading the world in primary education sphere for over the last decade and expressed a willingness to extend cooperation in this sphere.
