Ambassador of Italy presents credentials
PoliticsUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy to Mongolia Mr Ettore Francesco Sequi Monday presented his diplomatic credentials to the President of Mongolia, at the State House.
At the meeting that ran after this ceremony, the President congratulated Mr Sequi on becoming the Ambassador to Mongolia and expressed a hope that the Mongolia-Italy relations will expand.
He emphasized a significance of a visit of Italy’s Foreign Minister to Mongolia that will be paid this April, then added he believes "the Italian PM will take part in the 11th ASEM Summit scheduled this July in Ulaanbaatar".
In response, the Ambassador Mr Sequi is "pleased to say that Mr Elbegdorj's huge efforts significantly contributed to broadening of the bilateral relations", and noted that Italy’s FM had said a matter on opening the Embassy of Italy in Mongolia should be accelerated. "This would bring our cooperation into a new level".
Mr Sequi also said the head of Italy’s Senate will participate in the 9th Asia-Europe Parliamentary Partnership (ASEP9), which will run this April in Ulaanbaatar, and that the Prime Minister of Italy is ready to take part in the ASEM Summit.
The Ambassador went on his country wants to make investments in Mongolia, and then conveyed to the leader of Mongolia greetings from the Italian President, the Prime Minister and the President of Senate.
The President said Mongolia and Italy share common values, "they can expand their cooperation in many spheres, which would strengthen the ties". He conveyed his greetings to the President, the PM and the head of the Senate of Italy.
