Mongolian girl becomes Asian champion in tennis

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A young athlete T.Daria has won a gold medal in the U14 Tennis Asian Championship, which kicked off January 17 in Thailand.

In the finals, she defeated Malaysian rival by 6:4 and 6:2, bringing thus the first ever gold medal won by a Mongolian in the continental championships of this kind. 

She lives in Canada with her family and has been included in the squad of the Mongolian national team. 

Mongolia has been represented at the tournament by 12 male and female players including T.Daria.

Having attracted 76 players from 18 countries, the Asian Championships will continue until January 30.
